Unity International Group’s Unity Electric and Uni-Data divisions have been instrumental in providing major installations at JFK’s new $1.2 billion International Arrivals Terminal, scheduled to open in 2001.

Unity has been engaged to design and build the data network which will support the new facility. Unity was also responsible for the implementation and support of a ‘Fast Ethernet’ Local Area Network which connects the control tower operations area to the entire International Arrivals Terminal. The design encompasses two Main Communications Rooms feeding approximately 24 remote closet locations for final distribution to the end-user services.

Unity provided the following services:

  • Designed and built the data network which will support the new terminal

  • Was responsible for design, supply, installation, configuration, testing and final implementation and support of a ‘Fast Ethernet’ LAN connecting control tower operations to the International Arrivals Terminal via a complex Single Mode Fiber Optic Network with full redundancy capabilities
